Locking System T180

Has anybody had a problem locking their Rav which has the Smart Entry (which allows you to lock or unlock the doors by simply touching the handle) in areas where there are CCTV cameras? In a local council car park if you park in a particular spot which appears to be inline with the camera the system does not opperate, move the car a few feet either side of 'this line' and it works ok (promise this was not after a couple of pints!) - this has happened more than once.

Any ideas?

Hi mate, not sure about the workings of the CCTV the controls may be infra red, microwave or whatever.

The reason I'm saying this is because there have been threads on here in the past where members cant

activate their remote locking in certain dead areas. Be it beside their house, place of work etc, the reason

seemed to be jamming from signals from wireless broadband. It has I'm sure been well documented in other

forums and magazines. If this is new to you try using the search function at bottom of page for more info.

There isn't much you can do other than don't park there.

Recently a mate of mine with an Avensis couldn't get into his car without the alarm going off. After consultation with the dealer who was quite familiar with the problem it turned out that the radio or infra red alarm he had fitted to his garage (I am talking about a plug in thing that senses movement in his garage and sounds an alarm on the receicer in the house) was blocking it.

Apparently any of these common radio transmitting devices are prone to scrambling your remote. Just hope your neighbour that you don't get on with doesn't get one or you're stuffed!

Never really had any major problems getting into my T180.

Occasional, the handle will not work, but the remote usually does.

On the rare occation, neither will work, and I just walk away and come back, and all is back to normal??
