Turbo Noises!?

hello all,

Just wanted to know if anyone could help..... im getting a strange noise as the turbo winds up when i accelerate, get the usual whine but also a kind of gritty loose metal bits kind of sound, pretty hard to describe lol! it pulls ok and dont get any giant plumes of smoke or anything...yet!! :| any ideas guys?

could be the bearings are on there way out its best to check, remove the inlet pipe from the turbo and check for shaft play and also drag, the compressor wheel should spin freely
