Thule Roof Bike Carrier For A Rav4

I want to get a Thule bike roof carrier for my RAV4. One retailer suggested I go for the Toyota roof rails and then get the Thule bars and the bike carriers. This options seems very expensive as the Toyota roof rails cost close to £300. The Thule offering is less than half that (excluding the bike carriers). I would like to hear from anyone who's got a complete Thule solution. Does it fit well, how many bikes can you fit on it.

Assuming its a 4.3 RAV if it came with no rails

My 4.2 came with rails and I opted for the Thule bars around £70 Good quality and easy to fit and remove

I do not need the bars for both my daughter and my bike they simply roll in the back with the rear seats folded forward, do not even need to remove the seats.Thats what I like about the Rav very versatile.

Hi, I use a Thule Roofrack and bikeracks and it fits and works well. I use some clean thin cloth to protect the paintwork from the metal "L" brackets and I've no damage to the paintwork. I can carry 4 bikes.
