Avensis 2.2 D4-d Intermittent Slow Take Off In Fisrt Gear

For the last few days I have been experiencing a weird fault with my car.

Occasionally it just crawls away for a standing start in first gear, then after a few seconds "power" seems to return and off I go.

You can imagine how frustrating this is at traffic lights and round-a-bouts, but equally how dangerous it is when trying to cross over dual carridgeways!

The car has only done 20K in six months and is due its second service this week. I have had a breakdown repairer out but he could not fault it, says there is no clutch problem. Clutch comes to the bite ok and revs ok, but when I have the fault there is just no power and the car crawls along, then suddenly after a few seconds power returns and the car moves away freely. There is no judder and the car never stalls.

I just thought I would post this and see if any of you mechanically minded people have an idea what could be wrong before I try explaining it to my local dealer!
