Engine Swap

Hi,

I’m looking to put a more powerful engine into my 98 gen 6 celica gt, does anyone know what engines are an easy fit, a V6 maybe?

Also how hard would it be to make the GT rear wheel drive?

Before anyone says get a GT4, I know there more powerful and cheaper to buy but I want a unique car and I’m sticking to my GT :P

V6 Camry into the MR2 is a common swap, so that should present similar difficulties into the Celica. And for a V6 it's quite a light engine, so shouldn't make the car too nose heavy. Alternatively you could go 3S-GTE and get as much power as FWD can cope with.

I suspect that making a FWD Celica into a RWD would be a fairly big job. I think you'd be far better off starting with the GT4 body if you want to do that, as its rear end is already designed to accommodate the rear diff. I would think it's possible though if you have lots of money to spend.

The rwd was just an idea iv not looked into, I may jus leave it fwd. I'll look into the Camry engine. Cheers dude
