T-sport Standard Speaker Impedance?

Hi everyone :)

I'm just wondering if anyone is aware of the impedance of the Speakers fitted to the standard P2 T-Sport? Or, more usefully, the lowest impedance Speakers that can be driven from each output of the stock HU. I'm looking to upgrade the Speakers first, then the HU at a later date.

The units I'm looking at are available only as 2 Ohm... :( Anyone upgraded to 2 Ohm units and had problems?

Both the dash and door Speakers I upgraded to are 4 ohm. Don't know the what the standard are, i'll have a look see if it says in the haynes manual.

I think the standard Speakers are 4 ohm. I'll check tomorrow and give you a 100% correct answer though!

the door Speakers are 4ohm

and the dash speakes are 6ohm

Thought they would have been the same.

Hi - thanks for the replies and the useful pictures :D

I believe the dashboard units are a higher impedance of 6 Ohm in an attempt to restrict the amount of power going through them, if 4 Ohm units were fitted this might draw the full power output from the HU and cause possible speaker damage - the standard dashboard speaker looks quite 'budget' and I would be surprised if it had a power handling capacity of more than 10W or so.

I suspected the Speakers would be 4 Ohm and would also assume the HU will not drive into 2 Ohm. This isn't a problem for me for what I have in mind but more on that when I do the speaker upgrade. I might also be tempted to post a step-by-step 'how to' if anyone is interested, or has this already been done too many times?

Regards - Johnny
