Condensation In Headlight - Gen 7

hi all,

I've got condensation in one of my headlights in my Gen 7 Celica, has anyone experience of this please?

If not, has anyone any experience of taking out the lights?

I was thinking maybe I could get a hairdryer to it and allow the moisture thats already in there to evaporate.

Then if it comes back I know a seal has gone, but if not job's a good 'un!

You might ave a small crack or hole in the headlight, so that might be the problem instead of a seal. Might be worth having a real good look. If it is a hole or crack, you could try that glass repair kits you can get.

As for removing the headlight, I think it's a few bolts. Oh! check that VVTI manaul thing I posted before.

Have you checked that the big rubber cap is fitted ok on the back/main bulb or that its not split, as that would let moisture in.

Plust check that all the other bulbs plastic holders are in properly & their rubbers washers aren't damaged.

The Avensis headlamp problem is well documented and is a problem with just about most of them!

I have never seen this problem on a Celica, as mentioned above, make sure the headlamp/bulb boot is secure and no cracks anywhere in the lamp, even a small bump against a wall or similar can cause a crack to the casing

Kingo

I got rid of the condensation from my headlight by placing a piece of cardboard over the entire headlight and leaving the full beam on. Keep the enginr running so that the Battery stays charged and leave for 15 minutes or so. After repeating this process a few times it solved the problem.

Hope this helps.
