Aygo Heated Seats

Looking at the Aygo installation manuals shows that they have electrically heated seats available. Anyone had these fitted or have an opinion on them?

I understand that the Aygo has to wait until the engine coolant heats up before some of that heat is tapped for the cabin (unless you're in a "cold climate sales region", when an electric heater is incorporated)

didn't see that when we got ours. i wouldn't bother - putting the lights on when the car is cold makes everything dip! I had heated seats in a SAAB - i used them about three times in 5 years. good idea if you have thick leather seats, not so good on material as it's never that cold. the other problem is after a while the elements in the seats will break and they won't be cheap to put right, fairly labour intensive. risk - reward....i wouln't bother. you'd be better spending the money on some more every day goodies or aircon (that's really good but you sure see the mpg drop).

the heater does take about 1/2 mile / 5 mins (london!) to warm up but when it starts it's pretty effective. the only problem we've hadis the screen demister leaves a V shape in the middle that takes a bit longer to go, otherwise its been good in the winters (at least it started every time unlike the SAAB!!)

AFAIK the seat heating is only an option if you also take leather seat covering...

We had them on our smart cabrio - great in winter when you had the roof down, but after a while it felt as though you had wet yourself!
