VED bands have been revised - now up to band M.

With emissions of just 109 g/km the Aygo sneaks into the new Band B of VED meaning a charge of just £20 a year from 1 April 2009! And from that date if you buy a new one the first year's tax is £0.

Now only if they would reduce the cost of petrol...

It is worth having 2 Aygo's at that price, one for thrashing, one for cruising.............

All the savings certainly make it worth having been blown all over the motorway today!

As I'm not from the UK and couldn't Google any proper answers: what's a "VED band"???

Vehicle Emissions something???

Is it something like the "Energy Labels" we have in The Netherlands???

As over here the Aygo is rated Label A, being most clean in its' class and as of

April 1st (no joke) road tax is being HALVED for cars with less than 110g/km for CO2!!!

Vehicle Excise Duty: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vehicle_excise_duty

It used to be based on other criteria, but nowadays it's based on emissions. :)

EXCELLENT! I’m confident that the overall revenue for the tax man will be greater, but I don’t really care.

Used to be called Road Fund License, but the people in charge changed the name to VED because they want to use the money however they please, instead of on the roads/public transport
