hiya, re my gen 7 140, my car has been parked up for ages to due to an accident, the old Battery was nackered so i bought a new one a few months back, car ticked over fine no issues on that side.

i've only driven the car a few times to the garage

it has a induction kit.

i've noticed when ever i start the car up from cold it struggles to idle, touch the gas pedal...revs go up....take foot off pedal revs drop below 300 rpm and car cuts out.

its fine if u let her sit and warm up after a few minutes.

also today i noticed the Battery light came on, the revs again were low and she was struggling, cut out when i let go of the pedal. i revved her a few times drove it 2 speed bumps up the road, Battery light went out and rev prob also gone,

i'm hoping this happening cos the car hasn't been driven properly so the battery is not charging from the alternator or i'm i screwed...........second opinion any one pls.

oh and what should it idle at, when its warm its idling at 1300 rpm

p.s. re the accident, all major work has been done, just mot required, taking it in 2mrw, fingers crossed.

pics to follow

cheers me dears

Normal idle should be about 800 to 900 revs.

It might be the landa sensor (spelling?) that's gone/going or maybe the air sensor playing up. It could also as you say, be the Battery not charging. Take it off again and charge it over night and then see how it goes.

After I disconnected my airbox flap I've notice the idle is different and sometimes drops very low, but the car corrects itself before cutting out.

cheers edwardio might be the air sensor thing, it was involved in a heavy front end prang,

also if the car were a d cat, would that or could that be a factor re the high idle

dont have a charher at home, so i've disconnected irt for now, hopefully the mot will go smootley, get some tax and then woo hoooo
