Hi folks just picked up my first rav 4 yesterday a 2002 1.8 nv and am delighted with it. I've been after one for some time and now that my old laguna has hit 130k felt it was time for a change.

The only thing is that it hasnt come with a drivers handbook so was wondering where the best/cheapest place would be to get one was.

Havent a clue about where the jack is or how to open the petrol cover but this forum has hopefully pointed me in the right direction, under the passenger seat and a lever under the steering wheel.

Hope to get a pic of it up on the site soon once the grey skies disappear

Thanks to all for a great and helpful forum :)

Knowing yer frae Ireland (checked multimap fur confurmation) then a guid welcome tae ye. Jist wan thing.....ye dinna pit the jack unner the steering wheel tae jack up the tyre - whaever telt ye that wis haeing ye oan!!

The jack used tae be in a wee cubby hole in the rear wheel arch, or unner a front seat. Ma jack sits in a box ahent me. Ma petrol cover opens wi a wee lever oan the flayr next tae the drivers seat but maybe yurs has a different secret lever?

have fun

Hello and welcome. There are manuals on eBay but they seem to be translations of the original Japanese manuals for Japanese versions. Just another thought, but you could try a breakers - on the basis that you probably have the owners manual in the car when you - erm, crash. There's Machin's 4x4 in Saintfield, I visited them for a bit for my better half's 4.2 recently and they had two or three Rav4s and were really helpful. Worth a call, perhaps. Not sure if it's ok to post their number on the forum but please pm me if you want it.
