Hey guys, I just dropped down my engine due to an oil pump failure causing my bearings to go out. :( Looking at my cylinder head (it's a 2E 1.3L engine, almost the same as a 3E but smaller), I'm just curious if a port&polish would be helpful on that head. I know this engines aren't performance friendly in a way, but would that help just a bit? I get great prices down here but just wanted an opinion before doing it. I've attached some pics below:

Polishing the ports only isn't likely to bring on the ponies in great numbers. You need to think about the air/fuel flow as a whole process. Inlet side polishing won't help if the rest of the inlet is restrictive; and we all know about exhaust systems as well. I watched 1 guy in a lowered yellow whatever roar along the motorway here creating a helluva noise with what must have been a straight thru exhaust but clearly all the petrol was being used to create noise cos his performance was crap. The engine must have been bog standard and he'd managed to de-stabilise everything so that there was less power than the standard!

Don't waste time and money on 1 thing which won't make you delighted with the outcome. Take a view/opinion on it being part of a bigger plan that you know will work.

The inlet side shouldn't be polished anyway ;)
