What Could Be Better About The Aygo...

OK, we all (most of us) like our Aygo's, but there has to be a few things we don't like about it.... heres the thread to vent...

For me, the let downs are:

  • The trim on the doors could have been better finished off, a bit of fabric somewhere in the equation rather than just all grey plastic
  • the heater controls are nicely designed, but, could move with a bit more pinache... smoothly rather than clicking
  • on 3 door models, the front seats really should spring back to the position they were originally when letting passengers in and out of the back. its a real pain in the *****

Better noise insulation.

Never had a problem with all the plastics in the Aygo but I wish they were put together a little better, eliminate a few rattles.

Hubcaps that are easier to put back on :ffs:

I like the clicky heater controls. I find that with ones where they just turn smoothly through the settings you have to take your eye off the road to see where they are.

Agree with the memory on the seats, also seat belt adjuster for us shorties. Only minor things though and the positives largely outweigh any negatives. :)

One of my gripes is the lack of height adjustment on the seatbelts. Unless I have a jacket or collared t-shirt on it rubs on my neck. The lack of memory on the seats (3 door) is also a poor feature, thats why I got a 5 door. The rear Speakers are in a silly place. I have stuff in those door pockets and cant hear anything from them as a result.

that is annoying when it rubs on your neck ...

The height of the boot opening is a bit annoying. It can be really tricky to lift up things to a high height and get it through a narrow slot. A few more inches of boot space would have been perfect with a lower opening and perhaps not make the boot lid out of an old Pyrex dish.

I also find the seat memory to be a problem too so as I rule I try to avoid carrying passengers!

I do like the split back seats. That is really handy.

I am finding it a bit ironic that there is ISOFix in the back of the car when to get a 3 wheeler pram into the car, I have to fold down one seat and poke it through the back of the car to lay on the folded back seat. Since I don't want the pram to fall onto the baby, she has to go in the front with mummy in the back and me in the front driving.

If anyone knows of a way to transport a baby much more easily in an Aygo then I'm all eyes...!

+ I think the clicking heater controls are good because you know how many notches you are adjusting. Also prevents the setting changing (sliding down) when driving.

+- On the 3 door, the metal skin of the car is quite large and uninterrupted. This makes any dent/damage to the rear portion of the car an expensive awkward fix. This is one of the reasons I chose a 5 door, because it’s much easier to simply replace the rear passenger door than get involved in welding new panels

- courtesy lights in the glovebox, boot and rear passenger seats would be a good idea

- TTE diesel tuning box would keep my insurance company happy

- Availability of a proper sports exhaust (not just a cosmetic one)

As a total package, the compromises are spot on for me. It loves to be thrown into corners. Not scary at all

Meh....................so far only complaint is the one about the seat belt, could do with a adjuster for ickle old me!

Just a very very slight niggle when it has been / is raining.....when you lift the tailgate.........all the water ends up in the boot area.

No light on heater control for night driving.

Other than that I love it to bitz.

Shutting the driver's door after it has been raining - water builds up above the door and, as before the door is closed runs to the top of the door. Then, during driving, a few drops splash down.

But this doesn't go on for too long as, fairly soon, all of the water has dropped down (so it is not a leak) so I suppose it is only a minor irritation.

The car's wind resistance is poor.

Thinking I may need to buy seat covers. The seats seem to be made of easily caught/ripped fabric.

Cheaper alloys, some engine parts from TTE and front seats that don't throw you around in corners.

The rest is fine :D

better sound insulation, more sporty seats (these just dont do it right in the corners :))...
