:ffs: if you hit it with a hammer, your likely to crack the paintwork and make it a lot worse.

There are specialist companies that can remove dents and scratches for a small amount of money...

Have a look in Yellow pages (or yell.com).

Unless your a pro leave it alone, its so eay to make it worse!

Get a dent company, or your loacl body shop to pop it out, then the risks on them?!!

I am waiting to hear from a company called Dent Devils to remove a largish dent in the rear passenger side door.

hopefully, they will do it this week.

http://www.bodyshopwarehouse.co.uk/default...39&cat=&prodid=

Attached link sells these lower panels for approx £30 new.

As afr as painting need to key the panel with 1200 wet and dry, then possibly best to get some etch primer , then base coat with the paint and finally laquer. As this is a seperate small panel using spray paint from can will possibly be ok but for a professional finish you could take along to a body shop and get this sprayed with 2 pack paint

Talking about front endys I was involved in a collision with a multistorey support pillar when some ***** decided to cut the corner. That cost £900 to put back to new at the best bodyshop I could find. They even saved my TTE skirt :) Needed a new bonnet though :( and the slam bars (both of them) were dented causing a small radiator housing dent also. Luckily the airbags didn't go off :o

Poor yaris :( oh well. All is well now :D

Happy holidays.

  • 2 weeks later...

i took CDXyaris,s advice and bought a new lower panel from bodyshop warehouse . Cost was just over £48 after vat and delivery . Add £15 for paint and lacquer from Halfords and i will have just saved myself over £120 , from the quote i got from my local dealer , once i figure out how to remove the old one . Can anyone give me a few tips on how to get it off . By the looks of things you have to remove the upper plastic bumper as well . Please help if you have any info .

You will need to unclip/screw the rear plastic arch covers(under shields) from the bumper, this is done from inside the wheel arch.

There are two 10mm bolts on the underside supporting the lower section of the bumper to the body the lower section is just held on with clips along the join line of the plastic part of the bumper so could now be seperated.

Its not that difficult to take the whole bumber off, possible will reduce the chance of breaking any clips.

As above ref under sheilds and the two bolts at the bottom, then undo two 10mm bolts at the top of the bumper lift up tailgate then you will see these.

remove the rear number plate lights

at the top corners wher the bumper meets the wheel arch pull these outwards as they have clips just behind the corners quite strong so need a good pull. Then the bumper will come away whole.

Think I have remembered everything.
