D Cat Exhaust How To Pass Mot

i was dreading taking my car in for an mot (it failed on exhaust emissions 2 weeks ago, its a d cat.

and its been parked up for ages, so there was alot of white smoke out the back box)

took her in today, tester looked at it and told me there are two ways to check emissons, one for a cat and one without a cat. one with out a cat is quicker they check it on idle.

(also there aint any more white smoke, its been revved and driven a bit to clear that junk out the box).

he told me if it fails on the emissions the machine will raise the limit to give it a chance to pass.

it passed........he told me the cars emissions were so good that they could have tested it the other way and it would probably pass....

but then he failed it on me rear brake cable that connects to the caliper, he showed me, its badly rusted. he said if i do an emmergency stop, it might burst the pipe, then i'll be screwed, dont really fancy another prang.

good news, it wont cost too much, he'll be able to sort it out as well as line my head lights up, all for a 100 quid.

gota wait till tuesday to get my car back on the road.

drove very slowly a street away to get her home, parked it in my drive, got out and i heard a guy across the road tell his mate, "check that celica out"....lol made me smile cos my car looks so so sexy
