I bought my Aygo last week, it's a 55 reg. This may sound stupid but how do you lock the boot?? Currently I close the boot and then lock with my key (central locking) I then have to close the boot again as I've found that it's still open. Is this a common fault or am I doing something wrong?

Also, my rear windscreen wiper seems to have a mind of it's own and is constantly on, I firstly thought it might be due to a sensor, meaning that it switches on automatically when it's raining, but it's really bugging me as I can't switch it off.

Help would be much appreciated!!

Regarding the boot there is an issue with the button that it gets stuck in, can only think that is what happening to yours so therefore the boot is not clicking into place.

As for the wiper must be faulty wiring, either that or it is actually switched on and ur trying the wrong control to turn it off.

Hope you manage to sort them out :)

Hi There.

The boot lock:

Sounds like "normal" to me.

You unlock the car with the remote and the boot button will then open the boot.

Close the boot, and the button will still open it. It can be opened / closed while ever the car is unlocked.

Lock the central locking and the boot is locked and the button will not open the boot.

Check that as you close the boot, the button is popping all the way out.

There has been a problem with the boot buttons sticking in which prevents the boot latching shut.

The rear wiper:

If you have only just bought the Aygo,

you may not be used to the switch gear and expecting the rear wiper to work

by moving the stalk up or down. or pulling / pushing it.

The rear wiper is controled by a ring around the stalk.

If you look at the stalk from the end, rotate the ring that runs around the stalk

anti-clockwise. ie, if you are sat in the seat, twist the top of the ring on the stalk towards you.

If it's already in this position, there appears to be a problem.

Hope these help.

Ian.

Thanks for your replies. The back windscreen wiper is definitely broken, it goes when it's switched off and there's not a drop of rain in sight! As for the boot, definite fault there too, I shouldn't need to lock the car to lock the boot, I'm dealing with it by pushing the button out from the inside, but I'll mention it when the windscreen wiper is getting fixed.

Otherwise my Sandy is a fab car!

You do need to lock the car to lock the boot.

You do need to lock the car to lock the boot.

S'right - central locking locks and unlocks all doors including the boot

do you find that the button on the boot latch sticks in sometimes? 55reg will still be under warranty so you could ask Toyota to have a look at it.
