I see there is a thread for the RAV 4.3 so i'll not take that off topic, its seems the latest budget is going to hurt the 4.2 Rav4 owners a fair bit :( ...

As an example my RAV4 is a 2.0 petrol auto and its g/Km is 218, so next years road tax is going to hurt the wallet a bit .

The early 4.1 RAV4 owners are going to be okay as their vehicle are still based on engine size and the 2.0 band is £185.00 a year or 101.75 for 6 months.

its not that bad - the FIL 2.0 Auto Rav 4 is only going up the same as my elise.

My 2 RAVs arnae moving tax wise...other than i use the higher octane petrol which is dear enuf!

If 70%+ of the petrol price is going on taxes, then where is it being spent?? Its not the roads; no the polis; oh aye - its fur the MPs kitchen at 10 grand and their cludgie at £5500.

And withoot being racist oar onything else, whit perks dae all the cifil serfants get???

In Scotland, where we pay £2600 fur oor council tax on wur hoose, aw the cooncil workers get free clothes - ye see them aw everywhere. Whit they dae ah dinna ken. Then lecky and gas. An we even hae tae pay fur water which falls plentifully...+ pay more tae get it aff tae the sewage works.

£45 a year fur wur cars tae go thru an MOT even if they only do 2000 miles a year, an the MOT isnae wurth the paper as I found when I boucht the 1963 landrover aff a guy in south wales wha had it motd the previous day....the brakes dinna work; the tyres wur perished etc.

We jist sit an take it... in ither EEC countries they'd riot!

will dump lpg in my rav4 anyway so thats ok with me since it's still a bargain compared with my home country... :D
