Gearbox Rattle(?)

I hav 02 plate Avensis Vermont, 67,000 miles. Recently been getting rattle (sounds like gearbox) when engine is hot and when engine is pulling. No noise if engine is revved when out of gear. Any ideas anybody?

Thanks. It is going in for MOT next week so I will get them to look at it. Expensive to fix? Not that I care as it is under warranty.

Thanks. It is going in for MOT next week so I will get them to look at it. Expensive to fix? Not that I care as it is under warranty.

if its a thrust bearing its about £10 for one it just takes time to replace but if its a new gearbox then its more like £1000+

i have a vermont 1.8vvti 51 plate which i just bought and the gearbox has completely gone west

Folks may lke to know that it turned out to be gearbox main bearings. The car is under extended warranty. The warranty people say it is 'fair wear and tear'. What a joke! The warranty is not worth the paper it is written on. Local Toyota dealers bent over backwards to reduce cost to me as much as possible.

Mr T is about to get a strong letter. If no satisfaction that is the last time I buy Toyota.
