Hi,

I ordered an Aygo Blue a couple of weeks ago. My dealer has come back to me and said he can't give me a definate date for delivery but it will be May. I was wondering if this is a standard sort of delivery time for Toyota, this being my first. I'm a little disapointed with the wait to be honest, and was wondering if this is just down to my dealer. :(

Regards

Hmmmm long delivery dates maybe have something to do with the road tax going down...............sooooooooooo many peeps wanting Aygos!!!!!!!!!!

Never mind, I'm sure you'll love it when you do get it - we all do :)

I ordered mine a month ago and was told the delivery time would be about 6 weeks because it had to come directly from the factory. Your delivery estimate sounds about the same as mine, so I guess that's the norm.

When I bought mine in October I only had to wait a week or so....

Am sure I didnt wait that long either, but I guess there are numurous reasons that can vary the delivery time, as Devilish says sudden popularlity isnt going to help

It's the time of year, 1st March Registrations (08 plate) It will be the same in September too

Most Aygo, Auris & RAV are now 6-8 weeks delivery, you may be lucky and find some odd colours available, but the old supply and demand has kicked in

We had a pre 08 sales weekend and sold about 100 cars across two sites, imagine that going on all over the country. It means a bumper start to the quarter for Toyota

Ordered my Platinum 5 door a/c on 22 Feb. from Loders in Dorchester & picked it up on 7 March (2 weeks later). They did say it may be 4 weeks before they checked on screen - but I was given the 7 March as pick up dtae once it was ordered. May be a lot of Platinums available at present or may have just got lucky.

It seems a long time, but will be worth the wait. Great little car!

I spoke to my dealer on another matter today & happened to mention about this, they told me that all Aygo's are in very short supply at present, especially the Blue which now has a 16 week wait.

Good luck with yours.

When I ordered the first one, the dealer said it will come in about 3 weeks. Well, it arrived in 10 days. The second one, the one I drive now, the dealer said it will come in 2 weeks.. i got it in 5 days :hokus-pokus: Guess I was lucky.

I looked early March for an Aygo Blue and was told I would have to wait until June to actually get my hands on one!! However, after changing dealers I was offered one then and there, as they had had a cancellation so I picked mine up last Tuesday. After reading this thread feel rather lucky I got it when I did!

If it hadn't been for that one I would of had to wait until April. After just over a week of driving it, I can say it is worth the wait. ;)

I feel really lucky after reading this thread.

I ordered my Aygo Platinum a week ago on the 14th, I should be picking it up on the 30th. We didn't get much of a choice as it's the only one the dealership is getting this month but it was a cancellation like the previous poster.

I was originally thinking of getting the 3 door as I don't usually carry passengers but they offered the 5 door upgrade for free because they wanted to shift it and I get it in a little over a week so a result all round I think.

Does anyone know why the Aygo is in such short supply? I know that people are moving towards smaller / greener / cheaper to run cars - there are loads of Aygos / 107's / C1's running around where I live. But surely - the dealers should have anticipated the March 08 plate & had a full conveyer belt of Aygo's lined up to fulfill the demand.

What do you think????

There is a difference between dealer anticipation and factory output. I understand the factory produces 300,000 a year to be split between Toyota, Citroen and Peugeot. So, if there is a sudden increase in demand, they can only sell those sat waiting plus those rolling out of the factory. Once that limit is reached you have to wait until more are made and, I assume, that is where we are now.

I can see March being a particularly high demand due to the high increase in fuel price recently, budget excacerbating the road tax difference, great Toyota finance deal available to 31st March, special editions models with brilliant extras and the new 08 plate. A culmination of all the above finally pursuaded us to buy after looking at changing our car for nearly two years!

It may be that if you wanted something other than one of the special editions and cheap finance there may be some sat waiting with quicker delivery times.

Ordered my Sport in April 2006. I was told that any colour would be one to two weeks - except red which would be 6 weeks. My Crystal Silver Sport took about 10 days.

Think of it a little bit like wanting a new Wii or Xbox for Christmas, somebody wont get one as the factory cant make enough!

Nothing to do with the dealer network I'm afraid, we know how many models we will get in a year, but as mentioned above, demand for this model (and many others) has outstripped supply

I ordered mine on the 16th Feb this year, and was told it would be 6 weeks before I would have my car.

I have been informed today that it will be ready for collection ( :yahoo: ) this Friday, so Toyota's prediction was spot on in my case!

I went to order an aygo blue tonight and have been told by the garage that there are none in the UK at all!! Well no 5 door with style pack, which is what I want. Says it might be possibly June before I could get one, however an aygo platinum would be available in 1 to 2 weeks! :-S Dunno what to do, I love the Blue, but dont want to wait 3 months!

I thoroughly recommend the Platinum. The leather seats/steering wheel/gear knob are well smart. Also, the alloys look nice. Sit in one in the showroom & see what you think. The black side protection sets it off as well. Just washed it today & it's gleaming like a new penny. Only drawback is a/c is not standard (extra £500).

I picked up my Aygo Platinum yesterday and I love the thing!!

I did 100 miles or so in it yesterday and a few to and from work today. I think it's cracking, so do my colleagues at work, it's true that people have a long look at it when they walk past it in the car park.

I haven't found any drawbacks yet, it's still early days and it hasn't rained yet!!

I really like the seats and steering wheel, it feels really firm and well built unlike my last car which felt a bit floppy in that department (*ahem*)

My friends have commented on how good it looks and how much room there is inside, it's really deceptive. One of the first things we did was have a look at the engine, every bloke does that. Then I started her up and she let out a nice throaty roar, the engine sounds wonderful.

Having said all that I do miss AC especially as it has been quite warm these last couple of days but all in all I am very pleased.

I've just signed up for the Aygo Blue, they had 1 left which was a duplicate order or something, I wanted the 5 door really but have got the three door one coz I don't want to wait weeks.

The nice man at the dealership said they've had 2 others who said they want the car (I got there first!), but that they can't get any more blues for 6-8 weeks now.

Stockport had 3 in stock on Thursday afternoon, and I was going to see them, but he rang me at 5pm to say they'd all gone!

So, i'm quite excited now, I pick it up next Monday after they've fitted the parking sensors for me :D

I ordered my Aygo + yesterday. I was told that the one I wanted without A/C in Carbon Quartz would be a 12 week wait, but they had one with A/C which I could have in 5 weeks and they'd throw in the A/C for half price.

I wanted A/C anyway but couldn't justify £500 but my boyfriend talked me into having it for £250.

I'm so excited now, I've never had a new car before. I can't wait to wave goodbye to my unreliable stupid little smart car and say hello to Aygo :D
