Help! Brake Job

i am currently living in japan and i own a 1975 celica GT with a 2TG. my question is, what parts are interchangeable from Japan spec models to US spec models? i have already tried buying a cap and rotor for the distributor and those didnt fit. i am mainly concerned with a complete brake system redo. i plan on replacing everything. lines, calipers etc. it is impossible to find parts in japan for older cars (at least from every "auto parts" store i have been to. i was planning on ordering them from the states for the same yr US spec celica gt. would that work? also while i am replacing everything, is there any direct bolt-on upgrades that i could use instead of the stock parts?

also there are junk yards full of newer (1992 on) japanese cars and suv's (no trucks) so if i could use parts from them it would be helpful too.
