Soarer 2.5 Turbos Died, Had Qoute £2500 Quote - Help!

Hi,

I have a 1995 Soarer with the 2.5 Twin turbo engine. Unfortunately both turbos have died and need replacing.

My local garage (previously toyota but now in different ownership) has quoted me £2500 to have the turbos replaced!

I guess this price is so high as the turbos will be replaced with Genuine Toyota ones?

If im correct the standard Soarer Twin Turbos are the CT12 ones?

Is it possible to buy reconditioned ones and roughly how much do they cost? or is it possible to have mine reconditioned?

Are there any other specialist companys that might be able to do this work (Im in the UK - south) at a cheaper price with reconditoned turbos or by reconditioning my current ones? and any idea how much I shuld expect to pay roughly?

Can anyone recommend some good companys that could carry out this work?

i do know a very good Soarer specialist , his name is toney he is from tywan , he knows these cars inside out , you should check out his webb site and see the SOARERS he has worked on and the power he has got out of particular red one . He is based in nottingham in cottgrave

They are CT12A Turbos.

I highly reccomend Turbo technics, they also offer mild upgrades to make them last a little longer.

Unfortunately these turbos are notorious for failing, especially when a high flow exhaust is fitted!

Just a quick Question, What mileage ya have up on the clock when they died? My brother has a 92 soarer drift car and he wants to service the turbo"s there around 89000 miles i cant remember da exact kms on her, but he was saying they have to be serviced every 90000?? is this true???

hi not sure if you have sorted it out but i would just buy another soarer you can pick up one now for a £1,000 and for the price your being quoted to replace turbos? you can buy a highly modded one from eBay? piston heads
