Hey all, as the title says i'm undecided on getting a compressor.

I've read and heard mixed reports about them. Have my eye on a silver one with low milage for a good price but on reading about mpg i just dont know.

Are they a good car? comfort wise??

Did you know they run on 97 or 98 ron petrol, hard to get in Ireland, nearly every where is 95ron

could also looked into getting mapped?

Maxol e5 is 99 but not all stations have it, hard got in are part of the world, unless its in Galway now. Same price as the ordinary stuff.

Normal t sport is comfortable, i do long runs in it and its grand, bad thing in UK that its a bit soft but good round here with the roads we have. Go over speed bumps no probs, grand round town, you will be changing gear more cause the ratios are close together. Cant speak for the compressor, prob a good bit harder id imagine. The normal car will do just over 300 to a tank of 50 euro, id expect less than that in the compressor, they say they need to be serviced more, people said every 5k is advisable on here before if my memory serves me

As for getting it re mapped would you not be losing power, and if thats the case could save some money and have the ordinary that runs on 95 no prob.

Not massive, style wise think the compressor has 17's. Compressor would have more low down grunt, depend on your driving style if thats important.

This is ordinary face lift t sport on eBay

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2004-54-Toyota-Corol...tem360032763170

Then a compressor

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2006-TOYOTA-COROLLA-...tem290209287057

That first one expensive, normal t sports dont go for big money in the UK

That's really cheap for a Compressor!!

I'd be a bit wary of that one 6,000 miles and less than £9k??

My 54 plate T Sport with 45k miles is worth the same!!

:o

The compressor has 17's and a different back bumper with two exhausts, thats its style wise.

I saw that compressor the other day, its the cheapest one i've ever seen, its actually amazingly cheap lol

It is,215 standard, not 225.Second exhaust are fake on all of them as well, its had 4 previous owner and only 2 years old, and its cheap. Alarm bells!!

What's a "mil" light?

Malfunction indicator light or manufacturer inspection light depending on who you talk to,the amber one that come on when you turn the ignition on. Its the one that come on with the trc and vsc lights if theres something wrong. He only bought that car last month, if you go on to autotrader and type in the reg number can check when it was last sold, how many owners and if the reg matches the car for free, then you can see is he lying to you about it!!!

If you do decide to go for it have a hpi check done, i wouldn't buy a wheel barrow in the UK without one. Someone i know nearly got caught with a clocked car late last year, this was one that was brought in to Ireland a year ago and was on Irish plate. Clock was reading 98k, but when it was on UK plate in 2001 it had 127k on it. If there is finance owing on it they can still chase you for it over here, so its worth the £30

Eithers he's looking for a really REALLY quick sale or he hasnt looked at how much Compressors are worth.

You'll never know if a car is ok unless you buy it from a dealer and even then its not always ok. Have the HPI done check like Hogie said, if it's clear and the car is in as prestine condition as he says it is then i guess its ok. You still have over a year on the manufacturers warrenty anyway.

The 2nd exhaust is not fake as such, but its a lead pipe that basically piggy back s with the main one (right side with back box).

But yeah, i would be cautious with this car. Seems too cheap.

Re: £8995 06 Compressor on eBay

I might be wrong but im pretty sure (95%) that this bloke listed this car earlier in the month & the details stated it a was cat d insurance write off, fully repaired, but still an insurance write off!

not sure how this can be proved though

tread carefully, AA full inspection £182.

Hey!

I'd keep away from that compressor, something just doesn't add up, plus i saw that same compressor for sale at 13k only just last August. I remember finding it via approved dealers from the toyota website. I think it was in Coventry. I forget the actual dealership but that number plate is very familiar indeed. It's the same one i saw. Same colour, same reg, same everything.

So theres something going on for sure.

Cheers

Armz.
