Hey!

I'd keep away from that compressor, something just doesn't add up, plus i saw that same compressor for sale at 13k only just last August. I remember finding it via approved dealers from the toyota website. I think it was in Coventry. I forget the actual dealership but that number plate is very familiar indeed. It's the same one i saw. Same colour, same reg, same everything.

So theres something going on for sure.

Cheers

Armz.

alot of t-sports and compressors have similar reg plates

I bought my compressor just over a week ago. Got it from main dealer with only 3300 miles on the clock. I love it, rides a bit stiff but thats because their 15mm lower than normal TSport, inteirior is nice aswell, some cars i looked at had dodgy seat patterns etc.

you can see if its a CAT D write off because it will have it on the V5 document if its ben done properly

I was right, it is a CAT D, at least this time he has explained why it's a CAT D!

LOL, He's quoted it at 250BHP this time?!? Is he nuts? First he says it's 225 BHP and mentions nothing of the Cat-D, now he does mention it he says it's 250BHP.

Very dodgey dealer Me thinks, Stay clear.

cat d - minor damage, can be safely put back on the road. damage is more than a 1/3 of the value and insurers decide its not an economical repair.

cat c - as above but the repair would cost more than the value of the car. i have a cat c which cost £30 to repair!!

cat b & a are crusher material

Write Off Categories

The insurance write off categories are as follows:

Category A Insurance Write Off - the vehicle must scrapped and no parts or components can be sold other than for scrap. Amounts vary but the scrap value rarely covers the cost of recovery and delivery to a scrap yard.

Category B Insurance Write Off - the vehicle must not be used again but non- structural and roadworthy parts and components may be recovered for use in other vehicles. Care must be taken to ensure that they are not critical components with important safety functions.

Category C Insurance Write Off - the vehicle is repairable but the parts and labour would exceed the value of the car. This is a tricky situation as there are plenty of amateur and professional mechanics who could use second hand parts to repair these vehicles at much lower prices than the list costs for parts and labour.

Category D Insurance Write Off - the vehicle is economically repairable but other factors are involved that cause the insurer to declare the vehicle a write off. Perhaps the replacement car hire is too costly or it will take too long for a specialist part to be delivered.

Category X Insurance Write Off - the vehicle is easily repairable and may even be still roadworthy.

Unrecorded Insurance Write Off - the vehicle damage was not reported to the insurer or the driver was uninsured. The most common example is drivers who only have third party insurance but have had an accident that was their fault (usually not involving anyone else).

found this on insurance write off categories

i asked the salesman what happened if a car was cat d and he sad it will virtually half the value of the car
