When driving my facelift 2005 cts I sometimes find it hard to select 1st gear when taking of from stop,it just dosent want to go in but sometimes it seems to go in very easy...it also happens when in 5th gear and I try and put her into 3rd gear. She has only 26500 miles on her. There is something wrong its frustrating stopped in traffic and you cant get into gear.

I know that ther has been clutch issues with these cars, can any one advise me .

My warranty finishes on the 7th of April but I have reported to Mr T today and they are taking it to look at it next week to look at it ...I take it the warranty will still be ok....

Has any one else has this problem with the facelift model.

I've only ever had problems putting it into reverse, its seemed a bit sticky at times but only when cold. Looks like there could be something wrong

when i first started ddriving the cts i had problems selecting gears but it was more me being too rough with the gearstick. once i got settled it was fine. how long have you the cts? have you done many aggressive starts from standing still, that could give you problems.

I occasionally have the same problem. But it isnt to bad. The gear feals as though when putting it in first from stopping is only half way into first it doesnt feel as though its propperly wacked into 1st...my reverse seems fine and occasionally i do get a horrible gear changer noise if i dont push my footdown enough when shifting into 5th but i suppose its the layout and the long gear change...i have no clue if it happens hardly wouldnt worry about it as i bought my car at 26000 miles and im now on 35000 and nothings gone wrong.

I have had the car for 1 year ,there was 16500 miles on her when I bought it and 26000 on it now ,the gear change thing is not right, even my wife complains about it,no problems with reverse at all and sometimes the gear change is nice and easy ,and sometimes its a nitemare.Even ehen the care is warm and I would stop at traffic lights and out of gear with the handbrake on,lights go green and clutch in and push to 1st it sticks not quite in gear ,I would try 3-4 times before it goes in and the traffic behind you are are all asleep....

When in 5th gear on the motor way it was nice to go into 3rd gear and hit lift with no problem at all...now its a nitemare sometimes. It has got worse as time goes on.Toyota is getting next wednesday..to have a look at it
