Gen 5 Flat Spot

Hi guys first post here , and appologies if topic listed before i can see some things for gt4's but nothing about this for the gt.

I just got my first celica, 2.0 gt(uk) and its turned out to be a peach with more history and reciepts than i have ever seen on a car, and the quietest engine i have ever owned :)

I was looking at the air filter to see if it needed replacing and found a split on the air intake pipe, could this be the cause of the flat spot i am getting up to about 3000 revs?

By flat spot i mean it doesnt seem to have much poke then out of nowhere it starts to fly :)

I hope you guys can help and hope to be a regular poster on here.

Also if anyone can recommend any good places to get second hand parts in the northwest other than eBay of course i would appreciate it.
