Failed Mot

just had an mot there,car has been off the road since dec,had some major engine work done. anyway,went for my mot,knew it would fail on a few silly things,eg no horn. but i was shocked that they said the rear steering rack had gone :o they shower me it moving about but i wasnt sure if this was due to wear or was how the part actualy worked. any ideas guys?

This wont be much help, but i think mine had similar on the front (although mine is just the 2ws 93 ver), when going in for a service, and raising it from the gound, one of the front wheels swung loose... gravity had been keeping it in place)
