Hi,

Any Compressor owner changed their supercharger oil ?

Anyway in the Compressor partlist/repair manual says that we sould use "KLUBER GH6-80 oil" and I cant find that oil online to buy

Sooo anyone here that have changed or add more oil on their superchargers ? and what oil have you used ?

Thanks,

Andri

I think thats why some people that have had problems with their compressors have overlooked the oil for the charger your bound to be able to get it from toyota

Have a look in your service book and manuals to see if theres anything about how often you should check it/change it. If it was mine id be checkin it as regularly as my engine oil to be safe. Theres a guide on how to check it somewhere, a mate had shown it to me.

You could always PM Parts King and see what sort of discount he can give you!

This oil is only available via a special order procedure from Toyota, I cant even price it for you at this moment in time!

We have to order it, via fax, to Toyota, who then get it sent out to us, with the correct amount for each car

Just a note on oils, Sadly I cant get oils delivered, they have the usual hazard labels, which means the couriers will not deliver them without all the paperwork that goes with it, we have to be registered to send it, and to be honest, we dont sell enough to make it viable.

If your compressors are the same ones that i have on my yaris,

and i think they are, as its looks exactly the same.

You dont need to top the oil up or change it.

TTE told me this, & i emailed florian at TTE yesterday and he replyed today confirming it  .

Sorry to disagree but I have a tech doc showing how to check it, oil requirements etc, I wouldnt like anybodys compressor to run out of oil and the excuse being "Florian said I didnt need to check it"

Anything with oil in it needs checking periodically :D:

if you read the link on post 5 that outlines it

remember to have a spare gasket when you replace the charger face

Thank you for that

i sent my husband outside to take a look at mine.

It makes sense why Florian told me not to check or change my oil now.

The angle of the compressor on the yaris is different to the rolla,

that bolt points straight down,

The dipstick is underneath.

 exactly why i drove to TTE to get mine fitted.

i called a number of toyota dealers in around a 100mile radius of home,

no one knew what it was  and its a toyota part :o

i did get a dealer in birmingham tell me " not sure but we will have a go!"

didnt really fill me with confidence

To be fair to your dealer, it is not a Toyota part it's a TTE part, all part of the same company I hear you say, but TTE in Europe have nothing to do with Toyota GB, and we have to go through Florian and his colleagues to purchase parts just like you do, we have no catalogues or access to trade prices like you think we might have. I get asked for lots of TTE stuff, but still have to go through Florians department for advice/prices etc

i was under the impression every 10k ,

i think the charger oil change is a different option in the service plan ie you have to ask speciffically for it

another delaer here is looking into it for me - compressor knowledge over here is shocking

prob " how the hell do we do that :S"

this is the email i got from tte this morning

ello Mr. Hutchinson,

thank you for your inquiry.

If you did not lose oil you do not have to refill. If you really need oil please order Klübersynth oil via http://www.klueber.de/start.cfm. I think only 10 litres are available.

Please check the oil with attached inspection page first.

Please order the gasket for replacement with part no. 17376-YW501 via your local Toyota dealer.

If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact me again.

Kind regards,

Florian Bachus
