Hi all.

I've got a 6th gen celica and my front n/s wheel bearings are knackered. My dads agreed to change them as he knows what he's doing. All i need to know is the best place to get them from and if he's going to need any specialist tools.

I'd be grateful for any advice. Cheers in advance!!

Get a price from your local main stealers and a price from a local factors, ask the factors is that the best they can do for cash, may as well say the same to the dealer but you have more chance getting a few quid off from the factors, particularly if it's a Saturday as they will have few enough trade customers compared to week days so they are often more interested in your business.

no dealers gonna knock cash off for cash ffs!! do they add more using a credit card ?

go to local motor factor , buy it fit it , most are made by nsk europe anyways.

Have gotten a few quid off in dealers occassionally, must be my pleasent manner, FFS if you pay by credit card they get less money than if you pay by cash hence they prefer cash.

see what price they are, if you know what your speaking about you could always go to a bearing specialist and have one made, or one of the shelves if the stock the same ID and OD.

as for specialist tools you might need to press fit the bearing but usually you can get a big socket and tap it in.

just depends on how much of an interference fit it is
