Buying Rav 4

Hi all. My missus is thinking of buying a rav 4 up to £1500 to spend,just after some info good or bad any problem areas too look out for.. thanks

ooops - never saw your post.

I got a 1994 RAV 3 door for less than £1400; 79k miles in nice condition. Slight problem with alarm setting. We've re-done the rear suspension bushes which were knackered...quite common with the early RAVs. Other than that, nice paintwork and quite clean.

the drivers seat cushion seems to collapse on the seat back on 1 edge - not a problem but.

Check for oil leaks around the engine; and blue smoke. Clutch as well as it can be £600+ to replace. Other than that, they are good cars. Lowish mileage cars are still about and the engine should be good for 200k miles
