Hi mate, when you say you cant screw another in, is there a broken piece in the tapped hole in the base ?

If there is have you tried to screw it out with pliers or something pointed ?

Hi I realise this is of very limited use, but here goes - have not replaced one on the Rav4 but have replaced one on a Punto and one on a Peugeot 206 and both of them had a connection to a separate cable ie you did not have to replace the cable, only the aerial and base. They were both a bit of a squeeze to get under the headlining but it was possible.

Hi Gordon

Like Robert I think you can get the base without the entire lead. To get the head lining down is a big job (including all the rear seats out!!!).

If you want I can email you the instructions and you can just remove as necessary until you can get it?

I've fitted an aerial in my loft - is that of any help?

The aerial on my 4.1 is still intact 14 years on.

The aerial on my chimney blew off during the early winter so a £80 re-fit was necessary as I can't use normal ladders anymore (weight loading restriction)
