Starting Problems

Hi all

I have a 2003 2L diesel Avenis. I am having problems starting it. It tends to happen after i have been out in it, left for an hour or so and then try to start it again. It turns over but does sometimes not start. I have had the warmers and relay checked. When it does start it runs perfectly. Generally it starts first time in the mornings, it just seems to happen after its been left for a while? Any help would be appreciated.

hello sufferer :)

please explain all in details, as follows:

- when the engine was last serviced + advise the works list performed during the last service;

- you've stated both plugs and relay have been tested -- what did you mean? Clarify.

You state it is started the first time as OK. The more like reazon is -- fine fuel filter clogging ----> in details ---> you leave the care for a while (let say for a night) --> in case the fuel filter is clogged then the fuel injeection pump criates a vacuum between the feeding line and filter. The filter can not pass diesel sufficient quantity as in case of new filter and throttles a minor diesel quantity just to partly injection or even not. And as a result theh diesel is passed thru the filter with time delay ---> refer to your statements as above. CHeck with waer presence inside the filter using a drain plug on the buttom of the filter case.

Please check with above and come back with your coments/results.

cheers/igor
