My Toyota Corolla

Hi to you all...I am a new one to the club.

Must say you have some great looking Toyota's on here !

I have a 1998 corolla. Bought her from new in Italy, and would not like to part with her, but, I have a few problems now. I suppose it is age and mileage ?

One thing recently is when I start her up( cold or warm) she runs, and then within 10 seconds the orange engine light comes on and the engine dies, or should I say the power drops. After a minute (or sometimes more) the light goes off and the engine then picks up again and won't do it again until I turn her off and restart.

I did take her to the local garage but he could solve the problem...

I thought it maybe something to do with the exhaust?

Could anyone throw some light on my problem.

I think it might be a problem with your ECU. You might have to go to Toyota but they'll charge you something!
