OMG even the engine looks similar!! Have a look at the air intake assy. For my standards, I find it much more difficult to explain why the cars are so similar under the bonnet. I think maybe Mr T will file a lawsuit if BYD ever sell outside china

The Daihatsu engine looks nearly identical and is probably the same design made under license, but the Byd F1 doesn't even look similar, at least to my eye anyway. The front of the car is almost a carbon copy, but the rear is completely different so maybe there are enough differences to avoid a lawsuit?

It's the other way around: Toyota now owns Daihatsu, so they aquired the engine

from Daihatsu and then took the engineering a bit further, installing VVT-i and such...

The engine was actually designed and manufactured by daihatsu, and Toyota own daihatsu. The engines are the same (both VVTi).

The pretender appears to be BYD, which cliam that their engine is proprietary. (i.e. exclusively used on BYD products)

OMG

the front looks wellllllll better than the Aygo... Halogen bulbs and sporty head lamp!

interior is much better even though its closely the same as the new yaris; check the speed dial, looks more attractive too!

I would so pick that car over the original aygo, but only if it had the toyota Badge!!!
