40mpg? I'm sorry but for a car thats considered to have one of the most advanced diesel engines, thats pretty damn s**t. Since most of you switched to the Auris to save money of fuel it just doesnt seem to be worth in (well if I was any of you).

I'd much rather get a Fabia vrs with similar mileage, remap it and save 5 6k. This is faster than an Auris and still gives atleast 50mpp around town alone.

Again, you are comparing a car that weigh just 1170kg and a class smaller than the Auris no wonder it looks sh*t compared to it.

But 40MPG for how i drive is pretty good i think, the main difference is that i am getting 200 miles a tank better than the Corolla whilst maintaining the same driving style. To me personally is a bonus.

Plus, its only been a week and a bit, still trying to find the sweet spots on things so give it time.

What does weight have to do with anything? People generally buy diesels to save money on fuel. A car with a good diesel engine but weighs a ton is basically defeating its purpose, so weight is pretty much irrelevant.

My friend has had a vrs for about as long as i've had my tsport, his driving style is very harsh and he stills gets 50mpg in town. I happen to think it looks better too but thats a personal opinion.

Also, if you're getting just 40mpg but 200 miles to the tank more than your tsport, either you had a lemon or something was probably wrong with it your tsport.

Well, its like comparing a bus to a van.

You'd buy a bus if you need the space? Thats partly why i bought the Auris, cos i needed the space.

The bigger car you buy, the more it weighs so thats important, and if you are going to compare 2 different class in cars then what do you prove? All you prove is that the smaller car is more economical, but it does not serve my purpose.

I use to get 270 - 290 miles a tank in my TS. Are you saying you get much more than this? There was a post sometime ago that people were also saying they got around that...

I wasnt comparing two different classes of car, I was comparing 2 similar sized diesel hatchbacks.

Since you are now saying you require the extra space (which you never suggested before) as well as econemy. That pretty much cancels out the whole argument.

Yeah unfortunately i do way too many miles and need the space for work hence i went for the 5dr TS in the first place.

If i didn't need the space and don't do the miles, i'd got myself a S2000 to be honest with you.

I'm doing around 300 miles atleast every week so i'll be switching to diesel soon. I'll probably opt for the fabia lol

Fabia are smart, never driven one but looks like a good setup.

Will you be selling your TS or PX it? WIll be interesting to see how much you get for it. Whats the mileage on it and age?

well parts king - lindops should have a capiltal - dont make me laugh. last 3 visits to lindops...... scratched car!! damaged g/box and didnt repair and tried to charge for oil and filter change you hadnt done. me old man WAS also a customer at lindops - last two visits for a service you tried to charge him for an air filter you hadnt changed - two services in a row. one time you could understand - but twice in a row. if i had the time i could fill pages of lindop tales. and one thing i notice is you only post in topics where you can defend toyota or there is a sale involved? strange how when someone is looking for advice - use the clutch scenario here - you are fully aware of the updated parts available but you never help clear matters up do you! or if you do offer technical advice its always wrong - t sport/ comp shocks being the latest example....... did you smell a sale? to put it in context for other forum users lindops makes vantage toyota look good.

kingo......................... more like CONgo

and as for you 1978 - you obviously cant read as i have answered your points and showed them to be very flawed. you must remember i'm sat hear wetting myself at you - i dont normally get into childish arguments but you take the bait so readily - 3rd hand opinions? no its second hand if i am relaying what another owner says. admit it - the auris is ugly, has a fat ***** and worse of all looks like a pug.

The Fabia VRS are cracking wee cars and im a fan, but ive driven Fabias and Auris's a lot..the Auris is a far nicer car...standard the Auris 180 is a quicker car than the Fabia VRS and the Auris still would be quicker if both were remapped...

40mpg is great for the performance, im getting around 32mpg in my T-Sport....

Think 50mpg around town is a bit of an exaggeration....my brothers PD130 does 40mpg normal mixed driving and my friend complains that his isnt much better on fuel than his old Vectra 1.8...

Not once have you followed up anything i said when i countered your pointless whingings, and you sitting "hear" wetting yourself i am sure you can get medicines for that.

Your lack of understanding of basic English and incontinence leads me to conclude that i don't ever need to listen to your point of view, you have only contributed to offending people on this thread and quite frankly your continuing of making yourself look like a child is beyond any explanation.

Talking about taking baits, no doubt that you will again come back here (NOTE "HERE" / NOT "HEAR") and make some more pointless comments on how ugly people's cars are and how correct you are about diesel engines of today, but i won't be replying to you or any other thread that you may "contribute" to in the future as i think i have seen enough of what pig's brain of yours have to say on anything.

It is 3rd hand because i am emphasising that the information is not from you... 2nd - 4th - 7th? Doesn't matter. Its just an exaggeration... No? Still don't understand? Oh never mind...
