Well Toyota called me today to remind me that my MOT is due - how nice

However whilst on the phone I asked how much for the 60k for my 2l D-4D 04 reg.

I was pretty shocked when she said £570 - sad thing is that the cam belt needs changing and this is the bulk of the price @ £240ish.

So what have you lot done that have reached this number and what have you paid elsewhere?

:(

Anybody want to buy it :P

I got my cambelt changed at Toyota for £184 inc vat when mine reached 5 years old (56k on the clock). I thought that was a bit steep!

DaveSR.

You need to check hourly labour rate via your local dealer. If I remember rightly you get 2hrs to change belt & an extra 0.3 or 0.5 for removing PAS belt etc etc. Be careful if it is suggested that you need new idler /tensioner gear, because unlike a lot of other modern cars (idler gears being plastic) Toyota idler gear is solid steel & made to last, top quality. Make sure any parts changed are left in your boot for later inspection. Labour rates around my neck of the woods quite low & in Euros so cannot comment on that. 60K is the big one so it will hurt the pocket.
