Grrrrrrrrrr :angry::angry: ,Should have picked up the new Blue today but thanks to the jobsworth at DVLA Peterborough the registration application was in an in tray on someones desk and would have to wait until tomorrow as they had only had the forms for a little over a week and as we know it was a bank holiday, even though my Toyota dealer sent a man from Cambridge to try and pick it up. It seems that thay changed the system and will not now allow the personal collection of vehicle tax since 25/02/08.They just did not bother to tell dealers!! It was my wifes birthday today, thanks DVLC. Still I also got her an Ipod as well. Can anyone advise me of the cable required to connect the Ipod to the Aygo Blue.

Thanks

Greigster

Toyota have an iPod cable for LHD Aygo, see attachment, I would imagine they would have similar cable for RHD vehicles. It might even be the same cable, I don't know for sure though.

on a footnote here, as regards the 3.5mm lead for all other players into the headphone jack don't go to ripoff Currys and Comet, I about died when she said £15 for a lead that must have cost £2 to make, wen't along to Halfords and got one for under a fiver ;)

Any decent store that sells audio cables and/or equipment should be able to help you.

You need a cable with a 3,5mm stereo jack plug (the ones used for headphones) on both ends.

take the one from the Speakers on your computer!

If the Ipod has the facility you will also need to change output from headphones to line out. Our cable for our Sony MP3 player was fom a hi-fi store and cost £5.

iPod DOES have line-out, but that's only available through the

dock-connector (so the iPod shuffle is ruled out instantly).

There are several nice options for that too, depending on which iPod you have.

You can get several different car chargers that connect to the dock-conector,

which also provide line-out, like this one from Monster Cable:

You plug in the 3,5mm cable ath the connector that goes

into the iPod; the socket is just beneath the cable at the side

Or this one from Belkin:

this one actually has the line-out on the bit that plugs into the 12V-connection,

which allows for less cable-clutter going to your iPod AND it has volume-control!

If you also want a place to put your iPod you could go for something like this from Griffin:

tuneflexaux_1.jpg

According to Griffin this TuneFlex Aux can support any recent iPod with dock connector, being the

2nd and 3rd generation nano, the iPod with Video ("wide screen"), the iPod Classic and the iPod touch.

Just Google for "ipod car charger with line-out" and you'll get an idea...

Or you can get a cable that just provides line-out from the connector:

All of the above is based on using the factory radio. If you

want to go after market there are even more possibilities!

Personally I use a Brodit mount and a 1" 3.5mm cable that came with an old iRiver mp3 player I bought years ago. Works a treat.
