I put a new wiper on the windscreen yesterday and forgot to remove the plastic cover on the blade. So today I turned the wiper on and I've now got a lovely big arch of fine scrapes on the glass which cloud up when wiping

I'm going to go to autoglass and see about it, but has anyone replaced a windscreen on an Aygo and how much did it cost ?

A plastic cover scratched the glass?

If it did, I can't believe the scratches are very deep - you may be able to polish them out.

Slightly associated with this, has anybody noticed how easy it is to scratch the glass on the Aygo. After a winter of scraping ice off the windows, mine is now well scratched.

This is very strange. Glass is usually very difficult to scratch.

I wonder if there's a coating on there that is being scratched rather than the glass itself? Or else it could be a layer of wax perhaps?

I find it very hard to believe that you can scratch any type of glass with a plastic scraper; I've never done that on any car I've owned.

I infact did the same, but they polished out, the glass is very difficult to scratch unless you do it with brutal force.

Well it's being replaced on Tuesday (weather permitting).

Through the insurance - 50 quid excess.
