seen this in zoo mag yesterday, looks like a beast.

That will no doubt be a nice car to drive, but 25k for a Focus is a little steep! I wonder if it will have £400 a year road tax? You would also have to deal with Ford dealers if you bought one.................... I hate them

ford make decent cars these days - it was only the cvh engine that nearly ruined them and its took a long time for them to recover - of course the improvement has nothing to do with them using volvo and mazda engines. bring the cossie back

Looks like all the car manufactures are stepping up the game and making performance cars. And yet Toyota have killed theres off :( Come on Toyota lets get back on the performance side again. And stop worrying about saving the world :ffs:

I can't see that happening Jerry.

They're certainly doing a good job of presenting that image - but are releasing some incredibly potent cars using the Lexus Badge.

And it's working - Toyota are about to become the world's biggest car maker, while Ford are selling off their crown jewels just to stay solvent.

I doubt anyone at Toyota is too worried about Ford bringing back the RS Badge, or wondering whether they should be copying Ford's strategy.

Yes, you're right I think.

I'd read somewhere that GM just pipped Toyota to the post last year, but I think that was maybe based on figures that for some reason didn't include Daihatsu.

Either way, Toyota's way bigger than Ford these days, and not about to change their strategy. In fact I think they'll build on the success of the hybrids. With the increasing price of fuel and other penalties that will be placed on manufacturers soon, cars like the RS are going to be a thing of the past very soon.
