Alarm Issue

I have a 30 month old T180 with 50000 miles on the clock. I haven't had any problems with the car up until now.

The problem now is that after every journey having stopped the car after approx 5 - 10 minutes the alarms goes off. It seems as if it is only as the car is cooling down because if I re lock it after it has gone off it will be fine.

I cant get it booked in for a couple of weeks so I'm locking it with the physical key (disabling the alarm) at present.

Anyone else had this problem or any suggestions ?

cheers

Rog

  • 2 weeks later...

I have a 6 month old T180 at it does the same, but it carries on after cooling.

It is with the dealer now to have alarm totally replaced, but there is a delay as parts are on back order. (Must be a few problems)

I got the dealer to provide a replacement vehicle until mine is fixed by pointing out that for my insurance I need the alarm or technically I am not covered so I would expect Toyota to cover any loss due to the delay. I suggest you tell them the same.

You don't want car stolen and you insurance refusing to pay as the alarm is off.

Other to this its a good car but I don't know about you but my MPG is really Poor (32mpg or less)
