I've got this on my Celica. My solution - was to put a dark blanket on it to stop it moving. Problem solved!

Mine creaks around a bit as well....I solved it by using some of the draft excluder sticky sponge stuff . ;) ;) .. you know the stuff you place around the door frame and the door... Just right size to fit along the side mouldings the parcel shelf sits on....

Stopped the rattle, squeak mine used to make....

Had this problem when I had my 4.2, stuck some thin rubber strips to the lugs that fit into the two bosses on shelf.

PS, you lot are slipping AGAIN.

Dave, from YOUR side of Hadrians wall : :P :P :P :P :P :P

I consider my parcel shelf to be the enemy, it bashes me on the head everynow and again and rattles about, now 3 years since I purchased the Rav from new and decided to wear ear plugs!!! and a crash helmet other than that the car is great!!

Solved that one as well, get some stick on velcro and stick a couple of strips on the rear trim where you can see the black

marks where the rubber bits hit the trim. Use the jaggy side, not the smooth, it gives the rubber a rough jaggy surface

to grip on.

Best place for the parcel shelf on a 4.3 is in the floor (where there's a neat little cubby hole) and on the 4.2 is in the garage.....

IMO the parcel shelf (albeit it's got to cope with the rear seats moving) is pretty well the only naff thing about the Rav4
