I didn't reset completely, just altered the setting, nothing more...

I did read the manual when I first got the ScanGauge, but it's

somewhere in the attic now, don't know where exactly ;)

Hum.. Not sure that you'll read an accurate average fuel economy in this case ?? Manual says that you have to reset your settings.

Get it from scangauge.com ?...

I DID download the manual yesterday, but I must have something

wrong with me, as I couldn't seem to find where it says I have to

completely reset the ScanGauge when changing one setting...

Again, sorry for my Frenglish :(

When I say "reset your ScanGauge" I mean :

Scangauge manual Page 20:

....

If you find the fuel economy and use is way off what you think it should

be, use MORE>MORE>MORE>USE DEFAULTS and then YES. You

will have to re-enter your setup information and the fuel factor will be

returned to the factory default of 0% adjustment

Ah, now I understand what you mean.

I guess I'm fine then, as I DON'T think my economy is off that far.

Changing the Cutoff is just an experiment in getting it even better...

Just did a fillup and my preliminary finding is that shutting

cutoff off increases the error on the economy gauge.

It read 5,50 l/100km while I actually achieved 5,05 l/100km!!!

I'll give it another tank, if it stays the same I'm putting Cutoff back at 14 :D

Remember to 'reset' your ScanGauge at the same time you make your FillUp!

Is your Aygo a 2009 model ? (with new Optimal Drive?)

When you do a fillup and adjust the quantity you actually DID fillup

the ScanGauge resets all the proper parameters automatically.

In my experience the adjust ment you have to make allways seems to overshoot

a little; so when my last fillup was less than indicated and I adjust for that the

next time it will be more than indicated. The amount by which I have to adjust

does get smaller every time,as long as I keep driving the same way.

Basically a "normal" pendulum effect that is to be expected with this kind of equipment.

All in all the actual economy is the gauge that is most usefull, even if the

absolute numbers don't add up, the relative ones DO give a good indication

of the effect your driving has on the economy. Adjust your driving to get

the best economy indicated and you're there!

BTW, mine's a 09-2006

Whenever I adjust my scangauge at a fill up, it's always no more than 1 litre off what it thinks I have used.

Meanwhile I've done a couple of tanks and fillups with CutOff off.

My conclusion is that it really doesn't matter that much.

Both off and on I have a deviation between economy

according to the ScanGauge and the actual economy...

There IS one thing that stands out to me: with CutOff on my

fuel adjustment percentage was a POSITIVE number, but now

that I have the CutOff set off the percentage is NEGATIVE.

The fillups are still within one litre accurate though...

Hello everybody...

You're are right MurcielAygo, but for me with the CutOff Off, there is less deviation than with CutOff On (-10% Max with CuttOff OFF, +20% max with CutOff on)

So I prefer to keep the CutOff Off... And I definitivly consider that the ScanGauge Fuel economy is not acurate, sorry  ...

I use it as a 'relative' instrument. Very good to make fuel economy indeed, but relative ...

I agree 100% that the gauge should be considered as relative,

but as long as it helps me improve my mileage I'm quite happy!
