Anyone fitted them themselfs same ones as this picture here, if so was it easy to do:

corolla%20mini%20side%20skirts.jpg

I bought some awhile ago it dont come with fixings only double sided tape but me (& a guy from a car bodyshop) think it need more than double sided tape to fix it on, i even offered it up to where its meant to go although on the pciture(&lots other pictures i seen this skirt fitted) it looks sitting flat you need to press it quite hard or need 2 people to hold it down to get these side skirts sitting flat on the bodywork, does this sound right ? i hope i dont have a dodgy set. :(

Thanks if anyone can help.

measure twice drill once!! not fitted skirts to me t sport but done them before - dont drill any holes until you are 100% confident they are in the right place. you could even make a template of where the lugs go and match it to the car. you'll be alright

Just before you go drilling anything double check you havn't got any wiring running anywhere near where your drilling. They mite be double sided sticky for a reason

Just a thought

Thanks, the car is already in the car body shop so hope they know what to do! so is that normal the side skirt needs to be pressed down alot when fitting them? i was actually worried that its a dodgy set i got or the plastic has curved or something so that it wouldnt be flat no more  .

its just the top section has double sided tape, the underneath isnt so that either to be drilled & the rest using some sort resin or whatever it is thats used for glueing down body kits.

oh right - thats evan easier then. didnt realise the lil ones where just glue on! do you have to drill the body for the full length ones or do the sides glue on and the bottom fits in the original holes?

Dunno about full length ones as i dont have them ones if it sounded like i did! i dont think only using doulbe sided tape be enough so resin or some sort glue would have to be used too & maybe drilled too....at moment just worried if is a bad set side skirts i got or not as it needs to pressed to sit flat on the body work :( its ones on that pic i posted i got!

I fitted mine about 6 months ago.

You don't need to drill anything!! On the top edge of the skirt there should be double sided tape, then where the skirt touches the body you apply a sealant for fixing bodykits (it's black) your mate should know what it is and might have some if he's in the trade.Don't forget to rough up the area you will be sticking the skirt to, press on and from the flange on the sill, stick masking tape to the rear quarter just under the body moulding. Wipe off any excess sealer and leave to cure for about 6 hours or so. It's a doddle!!

Hope that helps matey

dont rough up the area your going to stick too! just use panel wipe to degrease the surface. are the full length skirts fitted in the same manner? i've noticed alot of trims these days are glue on - a lot more difficult to remove and with clips when you remove something the worst you could do was damage a clip...
