Yaris Central Locking Problem Please Help

my girlfriend has a toyota yaris 1.0.it is 2 weeks out of its 3 year manufacturers warranty.this week it has developed a fault with the central locking.the key fob will unlock all doors when open is pressed,but when the lock button is pressed nothing happens.it is still possible to lock the doors by using the key in the drivers door to activate the central locking manually.i have tried the spare key but no joy.my girlfiend is a bit of a technophobe and has not had a car with remote locking before and i suspect that she has been a tad over enthusiastic with the button pushing and confused the electrical system somewhat.has anybody any ideas on what i can do to sort the problem out.any help most welcome

I've got exactly the same issue with my Yaris (X-reg 2001 1.3 GLS) - it'll unlock fine but refuses to lock using the central locking keyfob. Anyone have any ideas?
