New Clutch How Much

my 54 plate clutch plate is slipping on hills its got 46 k on it at present

so right need a new clutch fitted rang my dealers £680 +vat :o

it takes 6.5 hours my god

any one recormend a good garage south london area with out the main dealer price

its not the clutch its was the gearbox output shaft seal which has leaked on to the clutch and fly wheel as well so i now have a very large bill

so output seals can fail from 48 k which means a gear box rebuild

This may be a one time occurrence but I do now wonder about the long term reliability of Toyota's are they any better than other manufactures ??? We seem to hear more and more cases of major problems happening at relatively low mileages

the only grace

is i did not get it from toyota and pay over the top it cost me £8500.00 in novemebr last year from toyota they where looking at

£12500.00 with the year approved warrenty so if it had lasted longer than the year i still would have been stuffed

well its still in the main dealers they have fixed it but the gearbox is not working right

they have given me a yaris on loan free loan

had it back now for two weeks

total bill £1599.00 with a 50k service can't fault the service i got from jemcar sidcup

gear box rebuild

new fly wheel

new clutch

gear box oil seals replaced
