Whilst checking over the engine bay I noticed that there was a rubber seal on on the nearside of the slam panel. When I looked over to the off side there was no seal, but holes in the panel where one could be fitted. My question is; Should there be a seal on both sides, or is my 'Blue' ok as it is?

It’s ok as it is. The bonent seal on the right (as you face the car) is to prevent water reaching the air intake on the diesel version. It is not needed on the petrol version becasue the intak e further back in the engine bay

As I face the car, the seal on my right is there, the one on the left isn't. If I understand correctly what you are saying, then the petrol version (as mine is) needn't have any seals at all.......I'm still confused

correct- the seal is not needed in the petrol version. I suspect it is cheaper to manufacture all the cars with this seal than only select the diesel versions. Remember the Citroen C1 hdi and Peugeot 107 hdi (not on sale in the uk) are made in the same factory. The air intake for the diesel in in the gap between the Battery and the radiator

I added a seal to close the gap between the bonnet and the bumper, but that was mainly for an insignificant improvement in aerodynamics

Thanks, I understand now. Like you, I will buy the other seal, but only to block the holes and make it look finished!

Oh yeah, does looks strange thats its missing, I think i would prefer mine to have both to stop rain and road dirt getting into the engine bay.

Does anyone know the part number or where u can get one?
