can anyone tell me how to keep the lift when changing gear i can do it from 2nd to 3rd but i cant do 1st - 2nd it goes to 5800 rpm then back in at lift at 6200. i must be a crap driver :lol:

keep the revs up when changing gear so there is no engine braking when you engage 2nd and come off clutch

im pretty good with the gears and i've never been able to keep lift from 1st to 2nd. can it even be done?

I am sure the gear ratio spacing is different per gear (if this make sense) so you wont ever do it unless you change the ratio's in your gearbox.

Look at it this way....

2nd gear gives 61mph at 8200 revs, so at 6200 revs you're doing 46mph.

1st goes up to 39mph. So you'll always have a 7mph gap.

But with the momentum of the acceleration from 1st you shouldn't lose too much. Plus you get the "no lift......lift!!" kick again! :D
