I have a avensis w reg, 2.0td, the central locking does not seem to work, when you press the unlock button on the fob it unlocks but does not lock, have to lock each door manually, but to open it will unlock with the fob, any ideas from anyone what a solution to this problem is, thanks

I have cut the thin wire behind the door card that dissapears into the door, the one out of the five wires that go in, it was white and smaller than the rest of the wires but no luck, the car unlocks from the remote but does not lock and from the barrel, same problem, unlocks but does not lock, and i also forgot to mention the door open light in the dash stays on, even with the doors closed and locked, i have read on a previuos post which i cant seem to find, saying it could be the soleniod inside the drivers door failing to recognise if the door is open or closed, does anyone no, where this is located, or could it be the swithces that are connected to the body, that signal the car if the door is open or closed,

sound like the solenoid to me ,if it is the doors will lock and unlock, with the key ,but not the buttons

this will arm and disarm the alarm, but you,le have to open the door manually,

and the locking of the door, from the drivers interior will be operative
