Avensis T25 Boot Lock

Hello

First up I am new to the forum and new to toyota's so any help would be much appreciated.

I am buying my friends 1.8vvti tourer tomorrow and he has rang me today to say that the boot has stopped working. He is going to get it fixed but obviously if it is a simple fix I will just sort it and he can get the parts saving him ££££'s.

Apparently he unlocks the car and goes to the boot and nothing happens, previously when he pressed the boot switch it made an electrical noise and opened. Does the boot lock have its own fuse? Also are there any particularly weak parts that may need changing such as the actuator or the switch?

As said any help would be much appreciated on this, fingers crossed the first and last problem with it for me!!!

cheers

Tom

Not much joy with this one yet doh!!!

In the manual it shows you can switch off the boot lock for security, it shows a lock in the hatch which mine doesnt have. Does any know how to operate this feature or more specifically how to turn it off.

dont want to look silly at the auto electricians

cheers

  • 3 weeks later...

Is it a saloon model. Cus they have a button on the alarm fob in which you press a button and the boot opens itself.

Mine is a tourer, doesnt have the button on the remote to switch the locking off. Managed to get it sorted by changing the boot lock as it had seized up. Cost me £80 at nationwide, but the previous owner paid as it broke while he had it!!!

cheers for the help
