What happens if you only get 2 keys instead of 3??

I have received 1 black key and 1 grey key and the other black key the dealer says they did not get????

should i be concerned with this as the missing key would be able to open and start my car??

Any way around this problem or am i thinking too deep??

To both postings.

Your Toyota from new comes with 2 Black & 1 Grey key. If both vehicles purchased from official Toyota franchises then tell them you want the extra key, afterall you would not buy a car with no engine ( a little extreme I know but same point ) off Toyota UK dealer. I have read quite a few postings in regards to customer service in UK it seems to be disappearing ( exceptions to the rule off course ) are dealers not aware that you will propably be bringing car back for faults ( that's the real money maker ) & servicing.

Toyota.Eire cannot do enough for you I know we get ripped off with VRT etc here (that's one to Google.ie ) but customer service on the whole is much better here. Or maybe Toyota Uk sell so many cars they don't care if you return. Sorry for the rant, had problem having headlamps renewed via warranty in Uk when everybody knew of problem with headlamps.

If you bought your car from any Toyota Dealership PLEASE demand a full set of keys i.e. 2 Black Masters and 1 Grey Key. Simply because if you ever went back to them wanting a replacement key for whatever reason you could end up paying £150+ per key. They can obtain further keys and program them for you therefore no excuses. Unfortunately i bought my Avensis privately it came with only 1 black master key and now i am having to save up to get a spare key :-)

I have just taken delivery of my 2nd new Avensis 2.2 D-4D TR both this and my previous T4 came with 2 Black Remote Keys and 1 grey Service key (that wont open the glove box or boot / hatch).

Make sure the dealer supplies you with the missing key or you could end up paying an arm and a leg for a replacement.

Mine came with 2 black, 1 grey. I noticed in the user manual that it shows a diagram of a metal tag with a number to order replacement keys. It says to keep it safe - but my car didn't come with one (used, from a Toyota dealer). Nobody has mentioned this tag - should I have received one? It's a 2006 facelift model.
