Rear Light Lens Change

Hi, Can Anyone help. I am trying to asses whether I am in a position to swap out the rear lens on my Rav 4 XT3 04. I have basically damaged the rear lens and it looks as though there are 3 bolts that hold the lens in place. However, to get to two of them the internal trim of the boot has to be removed. Has anyone done this before and can give me some advice.

Thanks.... :D

Tell me where its parked and I'll have the boys round to remove it for you! :lol: :lol:

With the 4.1, the rear lamp unit unfortunately was not one of Toyotas successes, and the plastic light guard was a complete waste of money.

I suspect they rectified that on later models by welding the unit into place. The Haynes manual saw fit not to mention removal of this item as it comes off itself.

I'm sure one of our friends will pop along soon to give you an idea - I think Dave.M in Motherwell replaced his rear end recently - oops - should I have brought that up? :P

How come my post is timed 12am when my computer clock says 01.12 ?? Somebody forget to push the clock forward?

Rear panel comes off like this - screws as indicated and the seat belt anchor. Unplug the light and undo the fixing nuts - easy!;

Aye - there's a lot to be said about 5 door diesels and the likes - now - remind me???? Water pump; fuel pump and valves; run flats on new RAVs; Taking the side oot tae change a lens; a miriad of headcases - oops , sorry - head units that talk or not to ipods and 1 type of mobile phone... :P :P :P

The dashboard on the landrover can be removed within 6 seconds - 2 screws both of which are broken. Overdrive fitted secretly without a lever; windscreen washers that clean yer specs at the same time; whit mair wid onyman want fur?

I think the Toyota philosophy goes along the lines of you might want to ride in it where the LR one is that you definitely won't, well not twice anyway.

I take it you never got around to testing the overdrive when Roy Rogers sold you the LR? Did you ever get any money back?
